Governments in countries around the world are keen to improve the environment in which we all live in a variety of ways. This could be achieved by doing a number of different things such as reducing the level of carbon emissions that are produced whilst generating energy, recycling old clothes rather than such clothing ending up in landfill sites and making the water cleaner.

Here in the UK, we are encouraged to separate our recyclable rubbish such as cardboard boxes from our normal rubbish that we wish to dispose of whether it is in our homes or businesses. This helps the environment.

An extreme example of the environment being affected in a detrimental way is due to climate change. This has resulted in sea levels rising which has eroded coastal land in many places and in some cases has caused some properties by the sea to collapse into the water leaving people with having to be re-housed.

Such end-of-life (ELV) vehicles have to be disposed off in a particular way by waste sites to reduce the impact from an environmental point of view.
